Directed by Louise Weard (Canada, 2026, 127 min.).
Filmmaker Louise Weard returns with another lo-fi, darkly comic exploration of trans identity, sexuality, and the contradictions of contemporary life. Avalon Fast reprises her role as Izzy, a helpline operator whose personal connection to a violent crime becomes entangled with the unraveling of her relationship to Trent, a broke slacker whose identity as a trans woman Izzy struggles to accept. Meanwhile, Michaela “Traps” Sinclair leads a trans support group while confronting competing ideas about survival, self-expression, and acceptance.
Raw and uncomfortably funny, Weard’s latest uses the intimacy of home movies to capture the messy contradictions of its characters’ lives.
