Directed by Maiken Baird (USA, 2026, 107 min.). English and Arabic with English subtitles.

Edward Said brought an extraordinary intellect, eloquence, and moral clarity to some of the most consequential political questions of his time. His books, including Orientalism and The Question of Palestine, and frequent television appearances made him a powerful and recognizable voice on the Palestinian cause. This documentary brings Said’s voice to new generations, drawing on hundreds of hours of archival interviews, talks, and documentaries to create a vivid portrait in his own words. Filmmaker Maiken Baird, Palestinian American producers Sarah Mowaswes and Razan Ghalayini, and Said’s daughter, Najla Said, as consulting producer, bring together this remarkable archive to illuminate a life shaped by displacement and deeply engaged with the defining political questions of its time, from the Nakba to the Oslo Accords.

An official selection of the New York and Toronto Film Festivals.

Stay tuned after the screening for a Q and A with producer Sarah Moweses.
