Directed by Paul Thomas Anderson (USA, 2025, 161 min.).

Directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, One Battle After Another follows Bob Ferguson (Leonardo DiCaprio), a bathrobed, pot-smoking former revolutionary who is forced out of hiding when his teenage daughter, Willa, becomes the target of a deranged figure from his militant past (a formidable and often hilarious Sean Penn). As Willa is hunted and Bob frantically searches for her, the film unfolds across stark desert landscapes as a high-energy mix of political reckoning, family drama, and escalating chases.

Fast, funny, and gorgeous to behold, One Battle After Another turns the afterlife of radicalism into a propulsive and surprisingly playful thriller. Nominated for 13 Oscars including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor for Leonardo DiCaprio, and Best Supporting Actor/Actress for Sean Penn and Teyana Taylor.
