Remember Me: The Mahalia Jackson Story is a biopic on the life of gospel singer Mahalia Jackson, her rise and challenges in the music industry, her unbreakable bond with Dr. Martin Luther King and her dramatic impact on the civil rights movement. The film stars American R and B and jazz recording artist Ledisi.

Vocal Performance by Yulanda Miller

Born and raised in Boston, MA, Yulanda (Henry) Miller grew up in the South End of Boston, is a Boston Latin School graduate and holds a BS in Management from University of MA. She was raised in Ebenezer Baptist Church where she began to sing and found her calling. After singing her first solo at age 14 her Minister of Music, Donnell Patterson, suggested she take voice lessons, and her grandmother agreed to pay for them. Since then, her voice has afforded her the opportunity to sing in many venues, on radio and television, for weddings and funerals; but she most enjoys ministering to congregants on Sunday mornings and allowing God to use her to bless them through song.   

She is the  Boston Director of Global Payroll for Turbonomic, an IBM Company. She is the mother of an adult daughter, and leads the Greater Boston Chapter of Power to Exhale, an international women's empowerment organization. In her spare time, Yulanda loves to travel, bake, spend time with family and friends, and sing. She is honored to join us for this incredible opportunity this year, and looks forward to an amazing evening with Remember Me: The Mahalia Jackson Story.
