When an acclaimed but emotionally evasive director (Stellan Skarsgård) attempts to make an autobiographical film, he’s forced into an uneasy reunion with his two estranged daughters (Renate Reinsve and Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas). Things grow even more entangled when a charismatic American actor (Elle Fanning) enters their orbit. Premiering in main competition at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival—where it earned widespread acclaim and won the Grand Prix—the film has been nominated for 9 Oscars, including Best Picture, Best International Feature, Best Director, Best Actress for Renate Reinsve, and Best Supporting Actor/Actress for Stellan Skarsgard, Elle Fanning, and Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas.
