This collection of narrative shorts takes us on a journey through Palestinian identity across generations, geographies, and times.

Short Film Program

10 Minutes Younger

Directed by Nisreen Yaseen (Palestine, 2024, 10 min.). Arabic with English subtitles.

Julie and Waleed, two Palestinian kids at the start of their teenage years, escape the suffocating din of political unrest for a spontaneous adventure through nature—where dreams and reality blur in their fleeting moment of freedom.

Khaled and Nema

Directed by Sohail Dahdal (Palestine, 2024, 18 min.). Arabic with English subtitles.

Ten-year-old Khaled and Nema, his goat, set out to help an elder with Alzheimer’s regain his memory—believing he holds the key to saving their village from demolition by the Israeli army.

Kamel, a 25-year-old Palestinian, leaves his close-knit family home in search of personal freedom and his own place in the world.

Blood Like Water

When a secret adventure goes awry, Shadi inadvertently forces his proud Palestinian family into an impossible choice: collaborate with the Israeli occupation or face communal shame and humiliation.

Mashed Potatoes

While preparing for a Friendsgiving potluck, an Arab couple debates the legacy of a journalist’s post-9/11 commentary, sparking a tense discussion about identity, loyalty, and belonging.

Followed by a discussion with director Suha Araj (Mashed Potatoes).

Don’t Be Long, Little Bird

Directed by Reem Jubran (USA and Palestine, 2024, 22 min.). Arabic and English with English subtitles.

A rebellious young woman accidentally travels back to 1930s Palestine, where she meets her equally spirited great-grandmother, blurring the boundaries between past and present.
