After a hurtful comment from a friend, a fourteen-year-old girl’s self-esteem takes a hit, pushing her to desperate extremes as she embarks on a perilous journey to transform her body.

Molasses

After years of training, 16-year-old Kiana is finally old enough to audition for her dream dance school. However, with the help of her grandmother, she realizes that she faces a debilitating issue: her skin is too dark. Desperate to pursue her dreams, Kiana turns to skin whitening in an attempt to beat the odds. After witnessing her mother confront her traumatic past, Kiana must decide if she will let the world’s bias stop her from dancing.
