A Real One

A bright teenager living on Chicago’s South Side discovers the power and beauty of true friendship when her illicit relationship with a teacher is discovered amid the final weeks of her senior year in high school.

Remedial

Remedial is a coming-of-age narrative drama that centers on Will, a young British boy who, after a devastating and unexpected loss, must relocate with his mother to Houston, Texas. When Will’s behavior at his new school becomes increasingly disconcerting, his homeroom teacher is compelled to make a difficult decision.

Palm Sunday

Inspired by true events, Palm Sunday is a Southern Gothic drama about a young Black Caribbean immigrant who attempts to assimilate into an all-white church in 1970s Raleigh, North Carolina.

An eager-to-learn Keisha rushes to her AP Bio class, only to be unfairly questioned by her white teacher upon arrival. Keisha must then make a difficult decision—accept the injustice she faces or stand up for herself and call out the teacher’s inconsistent behavior.

Dismissal Time

Inspired by true events, Dismissal Time tells the story of a Black student who, while enrolled in a reputable prep school, becomes the victim of vicious cyberbullying. When the administration fails to act, the student’s history teacher makes it her mission to bring those responsible to task.

Kody Switch

Directed by Evan Cleaver (USA, 2022, 9 min.)

Kody deliberately alters how he speaks depending on the situation he’s in or whom he’s talking to. Although some view this as a survival technique, others think Kody is clinically insane.
