Mark Thomas Gibson, whose “Banner Project” features a large-scale expansion of his Town Crier series, describes himself as an “American history painter” for our turbulent times. Join Gibson as he discusses his work with MFA curators, on the 250th anniversary of the nation’s founding and ahead of the opening of the MFA’s reimagined galleries for 18th-century art of the Americas. Learn about the everyday heroics of the Revolutionary era and take a deep dive into Gibson’s work to understand the growth, fracturing, and future of America’s collective promise.
