Boston’s Paul Revere and Mexico City’s Jose Maria Rodallega were two of the most successful silversmiths in the Americas in the18th century. Though their work reveals each maker’s distinct style, their portraits share a visual language that conveys their prominence paired with diligent craftsmanship. Take a closer look at these portraits, alongside objects from Revere’s and Rodallega’s workshops, to discover what they tell us about silver and identity in the late 18th-century Americas.

Bag Checks
All bags are subject to inspection by Museum staff. Backpacks, large bags, all liquids including hand sanitizer and sunscreen, and outside food or drink are not permitted.
