Spotlight Talk: Korea’s Last Dynasty

9 and 9:30 pm
Gallery 179

The Joseon dynasty, the last dynasty of Korea, is known for beginning diplomatic relations with the United States in the late 19th century. During this period, the traditional values of Korean Confucianism and the influence of Western culture coexisted in Korean society. Take a deep dive into the turbulent history of this time by looking closely at traditional hanging scrolls as well as a photograph of Percival Lowell. How can these objects and their stories help us understand Korean culture today?

With Malgeum Kim and Yeonji Song, Korea Foundation interns.

K-Pop Random Play Dance

9 and 10:30 pm
Gallery 168

Participate in an eclectic celebration of K-pop dance and music throughout the years. Everyone is welcome to join!

Hosted by Jamie Wong, dancer and one of the founders of Kosmic, a Boston based K-Pop dance crew.
