The exhibition “Curated by Teens: Death as a Constant Companion” asks viewers to reflect upon how artists represent death and decay. Decay is a major factor in art conservation, and the materials used to create artworks not only influence an object’s stability over time, but can also impact artistic interpretation. Using this 16th-century engraving by Dutch artist Lucas van Leyden (1494–1533) as an example, learn about the materials and techniques of centuries-old prints to gain insight into how works on paper have survived over time.

With Angela Lugo, Claire W. and Richard P. Morse Fellow for Advanced Training in Conservation of Works of Art on Paper.

Free with general admission. No advance registration or tickets required. Talks meet at Sharf Visitor Center.
