For the “Van Gogh: The Roulin Family Portraits” exhibition, recent in-depth studies of the two Roulin portraits in the MFA’s collection have uncovered new insights into the artist’s working process. Close examination and analyses yielded compelling information about how the paintings were made and how they have changed over time. Learn about Van Gogh’s materials and techniques and enjoy the unique experience of feeling the highly detailed surface of the paintings through 3-D printed reproductions.

With Rachel Childers, assistant conservator, Rose-Marie and Eijk van Otterloo Paintings Conservation Studio.

Free with general admission. No advance registration or tickets required. Talks meet at Sharf Visitor Center.
