Exploring the Dark Side, Ages 12-15

Working in black and white, focus on the value scale to create art with contrast and portray mood. Examine how to achieve these effects with different media such as charcoal and acrylic paint. Sculptures in the MFA’s collection serve as inspiration as you draw from observation on toned paper to master shading and volume.
Please provide a nut-free lunch, snacks, utensils, water bottle, and smock. Supplies are provided.
Ticket Information
Registration for February, April, and Summer vacation week classes ends at Noon the Friday before the class starts.

Accessibility
Due to the building’s historic architecture, the third-floor classrooms, 305A, 305B, 305D and 305E, are not wheelchair-accessible and must be accessed by stairs. Please let us know in advance if the student has limited mobility; we can make accommodations, including relocating the class to an accessible space.
