In this online class, explore color relationships, mark making, and forms while examining contemporary painting practices and their connections to the history of abstract art and its artists. Create your own abstract paintings using acrylics with inspiration from the collection and through personal reference photos.

Online Studio Art Classes can only be purchased through mfa.org. Unfortunately we cannot process phone orders or in-person sales.
All ticket sales are final. Tickets may not be refunded, are nontransferable, nor may they be resold.

About the Instructor
Alice Rufo is an artist, educator, and gallery manager. She has a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Illustration and Masters of Arts in Teaching. Alice currently teaches K–5 at Mitchell Elementary School and she has been teaching at the MFA since fall 2023. When she’s not teaching Alice does illustration, fiber arts, and ceramics as well as freelance gallery work including maintaining the Kusama exhibit at WNDR Boston.
