Co-organized by the MFA and Harvard University’s Korea Institute to celebrate the exhibition “Hallyu! The Korean Wave,” this symposium explores global circuits of Korean cultural production that preceded and extend beyond the Korean Wave.
Harvard faculty join Christina Yu Yu, the MFA’s Matsutaro Shoriki Chair, Art of Asia, and Victoria and Albert Museum curator Rosalie Kim to discuss the creation of the exhibition. Additional presentations focus on Korean fine arts, Cold War cultural exchanges, diasporic Korean theater, and a critically acclaimed contemporary multimedia stage production.
Presented in partnership with the Harvard University Korea Institute.
