Bryan Stevenson is the founder and executive director of the Equal Justice Initiative (EJI) in Montgomery, Alabama, and a widely acclaimed public interest lawyer who has dedicated his career to helping the poor, the incarcerated, and the condemned. In April 2018, EJI opened the Legacy Museum: from Enslavement to Mass Incarceration, built on a site in downtown Montgomery where Black people were forced to labor in bondage. The museum is a companion to a national memorial to victims of lynching, the National Memorial for Peace and Justice, which opened at the same time. Join Stevenson as he shares the story of how this groundbreaking museum has ignited discussion and inspired new thinking around museum spaces.
