From the director of The Artist, the 2011 Oscar winner for Best Picture, comes a meta zombie flick made for cinephiles. Led by a “tortured artist” director prone to on-set tantrums, a jaded film crew sets out to shoot a horror B movie in an abandoned factory on a shoestring budget. Things gets even tougher when the zealous auteur decides the entire film should be shot in one elaborate take. In front of the camera everything looks more or less normal; behind it the crew is spinning plates—and heads—to turn a hellish shoot into a cult classic, all while following their one and only rule: don’t cut! A remake of the acclaimed 2017 Japanese film One Cut of the Dead, Final Cut opened the 2022 Cannes Film Festival and received César Award nominations for Best Music and Best Adapted Screenplay.
