In the still life paintings of Dutch artist Rachel Ruysch (1664–1750), floral and fruit arrangements appear alive and rich with movement. These dazzling displays feature an astonishing variety of flowers, fruits, insects, and amphibians from across the globe. The first-ever solo exhibition dedicated to the artist brings together over 35 of her finest paintings, alongside a selection of plant and insect specimens from Harvard University. Hear from the exhibition curator to learn how it came together, and explore cross-disciplinary collaborations that shed light on the botanical discoveries Ruysch wove into her art.
