Set during Türkiye’s sweeping 1930s cultural revolution, this powerful film tells the story of Özsoy, the first Turkish opera—composed and staged in just 27 days by Ahmed Adnan Saygun and his team under Atatürk’s vision for modernization. The film celebrates Saygun’s legacy as one of Türkiye’s most celebrated composers, whose work continues to resonate internationally, including through acclaimed performances by Yo-Yo Ma.
