Experience a riveting solo performance by acclaimed pianist Dr. Hyun Sook Tekin. Born in Daegu, South Korea, Tekin has performed solo and chamber music across Asia, Europe, and the United States, including appearances with the Istanbul State Orchestra. Beyond performing live, she has released four albums, researches musical symbolism, serves as artistic director of the International Istanbul Piano Festival, and is a passionate advocate for women’s rights. Tekin is currently vice-director of the Bahçeşehir University Conservatory.

Boston Turkish Film Festival: Amrum

This Sound Bites celebrates 25 years of the Boston Turkish Film Festival, which screens at the MFA from March 20 through April 3, 2026. After the performance, head to Remis Auditorium to watch Amrum, the festival opener. From lauded Turkish German filmmaker Fatih Akin, Amrum is a tender coming-of-age tale about the loss of innocence in the waning days of World War II.
