For the release of her first children’s book, The Story of Art without Men: An Illustrated Guide to Amazing Women Artists, art historian, best-selling author, and champion of women artists Katy Hessel invites young readers and families on an exciting journey through art history.

In this special event, Hessel discusses the inspiration behind her new book, sharing stories of extraordinary women artists from around the world and across centuries. Designed for younger audiences but captivating for readers of all ages, the book introduces a new generation to the creativity, innovation, and achievements of women who helped shape the history of art.

Katy Hessel is an art historian, broadcaster, curator, and author of The Story of Art without Men (Norton, 2023). She runs the @thegreatwomenartists Instagram account, hosts the Great Women Artists podcast, is a columnist for The Guardian, and is a visiting fellow at Cambridge University.
