Revolutions Per Minute Festival

The Revolutions Per Minute Festival is an annual festival celebrating cutting-edge experimental media art that expands our experience of the world. It includes short-form poetic, personal, and experimental films; video essays, documentaries, animation, sound art, media installations, and audiovisual performances. Begun in 2013 at Colgate University, RPM relocated to Boston in 2018. The MFA is proud to host two screenings in this year’s festival, which runs from September 27 through October 3, and includes media showcases at other venues including the Boston City Hall Civic Pavilion, Brattle Theater, Goethe Institute, Harvard University, and UMass Boston. In past years the festival has featured work by artists including Peggy Ahwesh, Stephanie Barber, Bill Brown, Mary Helena Clark, Janie Geiser, Ariana Gerstein, Vincent Grenier, Sabine Gruffat, Barbara Hammer, Philip Hoffman, and Sol Levine.
