Directed by Jeanne Harry (France, 2023, 118 min.). French with English subtitles.
This immersive drama explores the machinations of France’s restorative justice system, which offers a safe space for dialogue between offenders and victims of violent crimes. In one of these discussion groups, three victims of violent robberies agree to participate in a series of talk sessions with three offenders. Slowly but powerfully, empathy grows and healing begins. Meanwhile, a social worker named Judith (Élodie Bouchez) facilitates an encounter between a young woman (Adèle Exarchopoulos) and the brother who abused her. These thorny dynamics create an intricate tapestry of human connection and grief, culling remarkable performances from the film's ensemble cast. All Your Faces was nominated for nine César Awards including Best Film, with Exarchopoulos winning the prize for Best Supporting Actress.
“Moves delicately through a dense web of emotions with a very clear focus.… Everything rings true in this film.” —CineEuropa
