Directed by Fabienne Godet (France, 2025, 102 min.). French with English subtitles.
In this warmhearted comedy, a gifted but struggling voice impersonator named Baptiste is hired by celebrated novelist Pierre Chozène to answer his phone—as Chozène—to appease the endless stream of publishers, journalists, admirers, and acquaintances clamoring for the writer’s attention. As Baptiste slips ever deeper into Pierre’s life, he begins to develop feelings for Chozène’s daughter, a talented artist.
With charming performances from Salif Cissé and Denis Podalydès, Fabienne Godet’s witty crowd-pleaser transforms an outrageous premise into a touching exploration of creativity and connection.
