Mokoomba, a six-man band from Zimbabwe, uses traditional and modern instruments to create international pop and pan-African sounds, including soukous, funk, and reggae. Mokoomba’s music resonates with the heartbeat and rhythm of a community connected through its music, serving as a source of rejuvenation, resilience, and strength in these changing times. Mokoomba’s latest album, Tusona, pays homage to the Luvale tradition of using signs and symbols drawn in the sand during initiation ceremonies.
