For the “Van Gogh: The Roulin Family Portraits” exhibition, recent in-depth studies of the two Roulin portraits in the MFA’s collection have uncovered new insights into the artist’s working process. Close examination and analyses yielded compelling information about how the paintings were made and how they have changed over time.
