About the Instructor
Maria Rodriguez is a multidisciplinary artist whose work explores Puerto Rican heritage through the lenses of spirituality, ancestry, and ecology. Her artistic practice reflects this blend of influences—rooted in the vibrancy of Puerto Rico and the creative energy of Madrid. Maria has been actively involved in community action, teaching art to children in afterschool programs. Her love for illustrating, painting, and writing extends beyond the classroom, as she uses her art to explore and celebrate Puerto Rican history and diaspora. She is also a Community Arts Initiative Liaison at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, where she fosters connections between art and local communities.
