Founded in 2019, the Taiwan Film Festival of Boston (TFFB) strives to foster cross-cultural connection among communities in Taiwan, North America, and beyond by showcasing compelling stories that explore themes of growth, identity, discovery, and adventure. This year’s festival, which runs from September 19 through 25 and takes place at venues around Boston, features a carefully curated selection of Taiwanese films rich in authenticity and diverse in perspective. For the first time, the MFA hosts two screenings that highlight the cultural vibrancy of Taiwan as a nation steeped in international influences and transcendent artistry. TFFB empowers audiences and filmmakers—young and old, local and global—to build a transnational community rooted in compassion, understanding, and meaningful dialogue.
